300 ROYAL CHRISTIANA OPEN
Royal Olde & Firste Golf Club, Port Celt, Christiana

PORT CELT, CHRISTIANA:  All dreams came true today for local
Christianan hero Quincy Holland, who posted a record-breaking
performance to win the Royal Christiana Open by an incredible 8 shots!

The margin of victory was the largest in IGT history, and his mark of
19-under par the lowest score ever at a major tournament since the
inception of the IGT.  It was also the end of the road of a long
struggle to regain his form, which appeared to be lost early this
season.  Holland was off to a slow start after earning almost one
million dollars last season, finishing second on the Order of Merit
behind Aros Shaul Disbach.

"To have an opportunity to come back to form here in my home country,
where golf all started ... it's just an incredible week," Holland said
Sunday. "It's hard to put into words."  The Christianan, who was
clutching the Silver Goblet trophy was close to tears during the awards
presentation.

Fellow Christianan, and runner-up Larry Tahoma said of his close
friend's performance: "This week, he had raised the bar to a level that
only he can jump," said Tahoma, who won last week's Aurora Open
(presented by VEXA). "This week, he was playing golf supernaturally.  We
all tried playing our hearts out to catch him, but he just kept pulling
away at the first chance"

The first to congratulate Holland was no other than HM Edward II of
Christiana, who was following the happenings with great passion.  HM was
also, as tradition has it, the one to present the Goblet to Holland.

"For every Christianan, this is the trophy they covet most.  Every
golfer, in fact.  This is the biggest achievement in the game of golf,
and in Christianan sports!" said HM during the ceremonies.

Holland made only three bogeys during the week, playing a precision game
few thought he was capable of executing.

"I have been struggling a good bit with my game so far this season, and
I don't think too many people expected me to contend.  But on Tuesday, I
discovered a swing flaw, ironed it out.  And on top of that, this is the
OPEN, and I was never more motivated.  This is great!"

And, get this: Holland avoided all 112 bunkers -- every round.

"Bunkers?" he said, feigning surprise.  The treacherous traps had caught
many a fellow competitor of Holland, including playing partner Valdemar
Oostingverde, who took 4 shots to emerge from the infamous "Royal
Bunker" on hole #17.

The Westrian, paired with Holland for the first time in a major
championship, hung tough on the front nine by shooting a 4-under 32 to
slice his six-stroke advantage in half. It could have been two, but
Oostingverde, who received enthusiastic support from the record gallery
estimated at 47,000, missed a short birdie putt at the par-4 fifth hole.

Playing with a sore back, things fell apart at the par-4 17th when
Oostingverde's 5-iron approach found the "Royal Bunker". He needed four
strokes to escape, made a dreaded snowman "8" and shot 75.

"I accomplished on the front nine exactly what I needed to do," said
Oostingverde, who wasn't happy about the finish, "Everything turned bad
on the back."

How did Oostingverde rate Holland's showing?

"Spectacular to say the least," he said. "He simply did not make
mistakes."

The historic win puts Holland back in the top players on the Order of
Merit.  With his swing ironed out, and confidence regained, the IGT may
be in for a roller coaster ride!  It was Holland's second IGT victory,
and, of course, his first major.
