The 28-year old Sanxian carded an 8-under-par 64 Sunday and charged to his first
career IGT victory, a two-stroke triumph at the Id'S Oylof-Feniz Open.

Melk started the day four shots off the lead but came out scorching, posting
birdies at six of the first eight holes. He added a birdie at No. 10 and more than
offset a bogey at No. 13 by picking up strokes at Nos. 15 and 17.

Melk is a virtual unknown on TOUR, with only a handful of finishes in the money so
far in his career.  His total winnings until today did not total more than Z
180,000.  But with the world's top 64 players entered in the Joshua Veitz
Vexillium Match Play Championship, Melk took advantage and walked away with the Z
540,000 first-place prize, tripling his career earnings on the IGT!!

"Being a resident of Sanx, this is pretty special," Melk said. "For me, it's
incredible to be playing golf here in the sun, while back home it's still deep
winter, and my compatriots are competing in the Winter VexGames.  In fact, they
Biathlon Relay team won Gold today for Sanx, so it's a really good sports day for
our little peninsula!"

"I'm going to be able to fix my schedule now. It's really nice, now being in an
exempt situation, I can finally get into all the tournaments I could not before,
or had to be on the waiting list of alternates."

"I am still a little shell-shocked, not sure where all of a sudden this came
from.  I guess it's perhaps my change in putting grip that made the difference,
cause I hardly missed from anywhere inside 10 feet, which means a lot."  Melk had
switched to the "Claw" style putting grip just two weeks ago, and indeed was the
low putting leader in this tournament.

Thobias ROTHIES, with yet another close call almost winning his first tournament,
and Vinnish rookie Vaino VINTERBANA, himself vying for his first win, tied for
second at 18-under with Lance CHRIPONSI and Fairul Ben HASSADD tied for fourth,
three shots off the lead.

Melk sank a 10-foot birdie putt at No. 1 then used a great chip to birdie No. 2.
After a par at the next hole, he rolled home a curling 18-foot putt to move
3-under for the round.

A 25-foot birdie putt fell at No. 6, the first of three straight birdies for Melk.
He used another solid chip to pick up another stroke at No. 10 but gave that stoke
back when he found a bunker at No. 13.

Melk finished strong by converting a mid-range birdie putts at Nos. 15 and 17. He
then capped his round with a chip out of the bunker to within two feet for par at
No. 18.

"I'm proud of the way I've played this week and I finally get to experience
satisfaction," Melk said. "But I'm going to improve and hopefully put some more
wins under my name."  It was the first ever victory for Sanx on the IGT.

Thobias Rothies took his near miss in stride: "Well, I think if I keep giving
myself chances like this, I know I will win one sooner or later.  I will keep on
trying!"

Remarkable finishes also from local Fenizic player Gnua HAM'GELD and comeback
"ex-inmate" Nathan SORUSNE, who finished in a group tied for fifth at 16-under!
