An interesting match, and the birth of a fascinating new regional rivalry!
Caboteniasa tried hard to keep the trophy on the continent, but Lendosa continued
their return to better form, and kept pulling ahead one too many times for
Caboteniasa to catch up.  Toranso headed in a corner kick by Natar, who is quickly
becoming a mainstay of the Lendosan attack, in the 14. to pull ahead 1-0.
Caboteniasa evened out through Fjortskank, also a name to remeber, who heeled in a
clever deception pass from Bohlin.  The match was wide open as both teams went to
break.

In the second half, it was again Lendosa pulling ahead, after Asano capitalized on
a momentary lapse in the Caboteniasan defense, as Nom tried a backpass to the
goalie, which went wrong, as they lost possession, a mangle of legs ensued close
to the goal, and Asano kept kiking at it until the ball finally went out and into
the goal.  Fjortskank was there again just minutes later, and scored a beautiful
long power shot to keep Caboteniasa's supporters cheering.  Again, just minutes
later, Natar scored a near flank that was intended to be headed by Asano, but went
into the goal with a slice.  The Caboteniasans kept their cool, and continued to
chase down their opponents lead - except this time, Lendosa was paying more
attention.  They had lost the lead twice, and this time, they were determined to
keep it.  They managed to dodge a few bullets and near misses, goalie Perez also
deserves a lot of credit.  Lendosa held on to win the Smalik Shootout '99 II over
Caboteniasa, a great achievement for this bounce-back team, congratulations, and
watch out for both these teams in the Vexillium Cup!
